Mission Sunday is November 9

MISSION SUNDAY is November 9. This year we are delighted to have Margaret de Jong with us, Mennonite Mission Network (MMN) worker in Senegal since 2006. Margaret is spending this year in Elkhart at Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary. Margaret is a nurse practitioner and community health worker, “walking alongside Wolof followers of Jesus through sharing Bible stories, health ministries and participating in women’s groups.”

Patrick Maxwell, Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) worker in eastern Congo, will also be present with us via Skype during the joint adult Sunday School hour in Fellowship Hall. Patrick is a Conflict Specialist in eastern Congo, the area where the Rwanda/Burundi conflict occurred in the 1990’s. We look forward to hearing about Patrick’s work to maintain peace in that region. Please find more information here about Patrick’s work.

Cakes decorated with a theme of Africa, or the countries of Senegal or Democratic Republic of Congo are welcome! Bring sides for the carry-in meal. May God bless this day of learning about brothers and sisters around the world.
